A Century of Film Costume Design. By Keith Lodwick

In this illustrated talk, curator and writer Keith Lodwick will explore how period films in the 20^th century have been depicted through the lens of costume design. From the Edwardian finery of Titanic (1997) to the gritty disco-era defining Saturday Night Fever (1977), Keith will explore key films and the work of costume designers and examine how these film projects have had a significant impact on fashion and wider culture.

Keith Lodwick is a writer and film and theatre historian. He is the former Curator of Theatre and Screen Arts at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. At the V&A, Keith curated Vivien Leigh: Public Faces, Private Lives and was the assistant curator for the major exhibition Hollywood Costume, one of the most successful exhibitions in the museum’s history.
