Countdown to D-Day, 6 June 1944
2024 marks 80 years since the frenetic months of 1944, when over 2 million troops from 12 countries were in Britain, preparing a surprise attack on Adolf Hitler and Nazi-occupied Europe. The people of Devon and the Exe Estuary were witnesses to this activity
Tea Room Exhibition
American troops arrived in Devon in the autumn of 1943 and Exeter cartoonist George Stillings published several books depicting their impact on local life.
