The Museum will open for the 2021 Season on
Thursday 24th June
Admission is free of charge: The Museum is run entirely by nearly 200 dedicated local volunteers and we rely on your kind donations to keep it open. Donations towards the upkeep of the Museum are welcome; you will find collecting boxes in the café and at the Welcome Desk.
Opening times: Thursday-Sunday 2pm-5pm with last entry at 4.30pm to allow enough time to visit the Museum.
Children: are very welcome and will find much of interest. Those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Quiz sheets much enjoyed by young visitors are available at the Welcome Desk. A baby changing table is available in the toilet.
The Tea Room: is open from 2.30-4.30pm on days when the museum is open.
Access: Much of the Museum, including the tea room and gardens, is accessible to wheelchair users but it has not yet proved possible to make easy access available to all rooms in the 17th century Merchant’s House. See the Accessibility Information page for full details.
Group visits: Group visits are welcome and should be arranged beforehand. Please complete our simple contact form.
