We regret that the opening of the 2020 season has been deferred indefinitely because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
ADMISSION IS FREE OF CHARGE
The Museum is run entirely by nearly 200 dedicated local volunteers and we rely on your kind donations to keep it open.
The Museum is now closed and will re-open on Saturday 28th March 2020, with new, extended opening hours. The Museum will be open every day except Tuesdays from 2pm to 5pm.
Last admission 4.30pm.
Children are very welcome and will find much of interest. Those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Quiz sheets much enjoyed by young visitors are available at the Welcome Desk.
The tea room is open from 2.30-4.30pm on days when the museum is open.
Much of the Museum, including the tea room and garden, is accessible to wheelchair users but it has not yet proved possible to make easy access available to all rooms in the 17th century Merchant’s House.
Group visits are welcome and should be arranged beforehand. Please complete our simple contact form.
Donations towards the upkeep of the Museum are welcome; you will find collecting boxes in the café and at the Welcome Desk.
