What’s On

The Museum’s permanent exhibitions cover all aspects of the collections, ranging over the Roman occupation, the medieval town charter, maritime history and local trade.

They are supplemented by an annual special exhibition and a series of smaller short-term exhibits in the Tea Room. You can find details of our current exhibitions here.

Recent annual exhibitions have been made available online and can be seen here.

We have regular lectures throughout the year on subjects relevant to the Museum’s contents, Topsham and its surroundings.

A variety of events during the Museum’s open season cater for adults and families, including toddler mornings for the youngest future historians.

Outside the Museum there are regular guided tours of historic Topsham with no need to book. There is also an option for organized groups to book a tour outside the programme.

For those who prefer DIY there are the Topsham Town Trails – two routes to follow and plenty of puzzles and things to spot for children. You can click on the image to find out more.

If you are far from Topsham or the Museum is closed it is possible to make a virtual online visit, with a British Sign Language option for the deaf.
