Museum make-over ~ Update
Some months ago we noticed cracks in the external render and as some of the walls are cob, they are very vulnerable to water ingress. Luckily, our landlords, Exeter City Council, have stepped in to remove all the render on the Shapter Street and Strand sides of the building. They will inspect the walls, roof and chimneys, make essential repairs, re-render and re-paint. Work is anticipated to take several months.
The Museum is now closed for the Winter months. However, by next Spring we should have a fresh new look and be ready to receive visitors as usual from 2 April 2025. In the meantime, we hope to offer some pop-up surprises during the winter, so keep your eyes out for announcements on this website, on our Facebook page or on posters around the town.
