Lecture ~ Hoards in the West Country

A Lecture by Thomas Cadbury, Assistant Curator of Archaeology and Antiquities at RAMM

Thursday 17th July at 11am in Matthews Hall Admission £5 (doors open 10:30am)

What is a hoard and what is the definition of treasure? Tom enlightens us and looks at examples of hoards large and small collected over the last 25 years concentrating on those in Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum’s collection. Hoards from the Bronze Age, Roman and Medieval periods are explored.

The Topsham Museum building on Strand is currently undergoing extensive renovation work. In the meantime we have an extensive programme of exciting, ‘off site’ events and activities, including the lectures at Matthews Hall.
