The covers are off at long last! We are delighted to confirm the Museum will be opening its doors to new and returning visitors on Thursday 24th June. Considerable preparation has gone into ensuring we are able to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone visiting the Museum. We would like to thank our dedicated team of volunteers for all their hard work enabling us to open the Museum this year. So do come and enjoy the original Merchant’s House and Sail Loft as well as the new temporary Market Garden Exhibition. Our beautiful Tea Room and Garden will be serving delicious cream teas and cakes as usual, along with some new treats on offer. And our Museum shop has lots of new items to tempt you.
When visiting you will be met by a volunteer who will welcome you to the Museum and explain the changes we have put in place to ensure all our visitors and volunteers have a safe and enjoyable experience. This includes a new one-way system and all volunteers and visitors over twelve will be required to wear a mask unless exempt. Social distancing and enhanced cleaning will also be in place.
