Lunchtime Lecture: The Fine Art of Photography 30 July 2019

The fourth lecture of the season on Tuesday, 30th July, is by Lucilla Phelps FRPS FBIPP.

Ms Phelps was formerly Principal Photographer with Sotheby’s Auctioneers photographing fine art for the auction catalogues before retiring to Budleigh Salterton.

The presentation will include images from many auctions at home and abroad, including Sotheby’s Bond Street, German castles, French chateaux, including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor’s villa outside Paris, and stately homes in the United Kingdom.

The first three Lectures of the season were very well received and as usual oversubscribed. It is lovely to see so many people attending these lectures but due to health and safety rules we are only allowed to accommodate 80 people so please do try to arrive early. Entry is free although donations are very welcome. Doors open at 10.45am with coffee available and the lecture starts at 11.30am or earlier if all seats are taken. Light lunches, in the garden if the weather is fine, will be available after the lecture. The shop is also open before and after the lecture and is proving very popular, with a range of attractive cards and gifts for all occasions.
