Aerial archaeological survey has, over many years, added greatly to the understanding of prehistoric and Romano-British Devon. Senior Historic Environment Officer, Stephen Reed, will give an introduction to the development of aerial survey in Devon and to some of the many sites that have been discovered, particularly in lowland Devon, including some that have gone on to be archaeologically excavated. Stephen Reed is a core part of a team that maintains the Devon County Historic Environment Record, provides archaeological Planning and land management advice and supports archaeological survey and research.
